“I get so much pleasure and enjoyment from simple objects that are in my home and in daily use, that  I want to communicate my delight in these simple things. To me there is extraordinary beauty in the most ordinary of things.

 When I paint still life I usually set it up and work from life in the studio. If it involves flowers, I photograph the set up so as I have a reference if the flowers die before I finish the painting. I love combining  colours, textures and pattern  in still life, but most particularly, I am inspired to paint any subject  because of  light and shadow.”
